Puget Sound ESD Professional development options for Paraeducators
Beginning in 2022-23, districts must now provide all four days (28 hours) of Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) training to their Paraeducators every school year.
Synchronous:
PSESD has subject matter experts for the required FCS modules on staff and work with the district's calendar to provide virtual (in-person) training sessions for their Paraeducators.
Asynchronous:
- CANVAS: PSESD offers all FCS modules through the Canvas platform. Districts can either access the classes through the PSESD platform or have them transferred to their district Canvas platform. Subscriptions are paid annually and has no limit to how many Paraeducators can access the training.
