School, Family, and Community Partnerships

We’re committed to providing access and opportunity to children and families, and we’d be happy to help you make connections, get started, and make a difference in your community. School, Family and Community Partnerships is focused on building the organizational capacity around authentic partnerships with the goal of increasing relationships with communities of color (community based organizations, parents, race equity focused initiative groups, etc.) which supports PSESD’s mission of becoming an Antiracist, Multicultural organization and eliminating the opportunity gap for children in our region. We are strengthening and building stronger connections internally between and among programs and initiatives as well as externally with community partners, organizations, parents, and groups that share our vision and mission – all strategies to leverage the work of building strong and sustaining partnerships. We provide technical assistance to districts around meaningful family engagement, build internal organizational capacity around authentic family and community partnerships, and increase PSESD’s relationships with communities of color in our region. If you are a school or district, community provider, community based organization, a non-profit, donor or funder and looking for a way to connect with the action-orientated work happening in the Puget Sound region, let us know!

Authentic Community-School Partnerships Institute

With racial equity at the center, educational stakeholders from across the region gathered together on August 3rd -4th.  Together we worked to establish a shared understanding and personal connection to racial equity and authenticity in partnerships to better serve and support our communities, learned about innovative, best, and promising practices of authentic community-school partnerships, and identified next steps to challenge current practices in order to better serve students and families in the opportunity gap.
