Head Start is a federally-funded comprehensive child and parent development program for low-income families. ECEAP is a state-funded comprehensive child and parent development program for low-income families. Both offer preschool classes, nutritious meals, social and health services, and parent education.
Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) is responsible for the Head Start and ECEAP programs in suburban and rural King and Pierce counties. We subcontract these programs to local school districts and community agencies, which hire center staff. PSESD Head Start also directly operates some programs. While we have tried to make this information as accurate as possible, closing dates and other information are determined by the hiring agency or school district.
