When it comes to education support, teachers are often the first people who come to mind, but education support professionals are just as vital in their dedication support, and their work too often goes unacknowledged. To salute these professionals, Education Support Professionals Day takes place on November 15 and gives us all at PSESD the chance to honor all of the incredible education support professionals who help and inspire our children each day.
Education support professionals include paraeducators, as well as those in health, food, clerical, custodial, maintenance, transportation, technical support, security, and other services, as well as skilled tradespeople. And beyond!
All of these professionals work long hours in their dedication to their work – whether it means supporting teachers in the classrooms, driving long bus routes, tending to illnesses or cuts and scrapes, cleaning or repairing buildings and classrooms, preparing and serving meals, managing tech and administrative tasks, and more. They are essential to keeping schools going every single day. Education Support Professionals Day celebrates these unsung heroes, so please join us as we salute, recognize, and thank them for all they do!
