Intro to Programming with Edison Robots for Grade Levels: Pre-K through 12th

This professional learning introduces participants to the world of technology, engineering, and computer programming with the dynamic Edison robots.

Participants will:

  • Program Edison robots, troubleshoot, and complete design challenges
  • Conduct computer science and NGSS standards-based inquiries
  • Collaborate and scaffold their own lesson plans and activities
  • Explore bar code scanning, EdBlocks, and EdScratch programming languages
  • Connect robotics, coding, storybook activities, and resources to STEM careers and research
  • Receive an Edison Robot to take with you to continue exploring and to share your new learnings

Optional: Edison robot classroom kit is available for participants to check out during the school year at a minimal cost. More information will be available at the training.

We’re excited to announce a new three-year partnership between PSESD's Latinx Family Advocacy Program, BECU and the Tacoma Rainiers Baseball team! As part of this partnership, BECU has chosen to honor and support our Latinx Family Advocacy Program at five games each baseball season. Celebrating our Education Support Professionals at PSESD

In education, the thousands who serve among the support professionals are an integral part of the industry and its importance.

That’s why it’s so important to celebrate their contributions each year for Education Support Professionals week, which takes place this year from March 10–14, 2025. The week was first noted for celebration in 1975 by PSE in order to salute the irreplaceable contributions of Education Support Professionals (or ESPs, for short) in the public school system.
