Today is Presidents' Day -- and it's also PTA Founders' Day!
Everyone knows of the PTA, or Parent Teacher Association. However, each year on the anniversary of its founding, it’s a valuable opportunity to salute the way it brought together parents and teachers in order to make schools a better and more supportive place for children to learn.
Also known as National Parent Teacher Association Founders’ Day, National PTA Founders’ Day celebrates the legacy of the PTA’s first founders, Alice McLellan Birney, Phoebe Apperson Hearst, and Serena Sloan Butler, over 125 years ago, in 1897.
Today, join us as we celebrate the accomplishments, mission, and impact of your local PTA! Learn more about the founding of the PTA here.
