Too often, it sometimes seems that the one constant across the globe is conflict and strife, not peace. Yet there is always opportunity for resolution and alliance, and for justice. This is the reason for the founding of the World Day for International Justice — also known as International Justice Day — on July 17.
Celebrated on the anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute (the founding treaty of the International Criminal Court, or ICC), the day was launched as a resolution to stand for justice, and against international crime and aggression, that was signed by over 139 countries in 2010.
It’s a terrific opportunity for reaffirming the goal to support justice all across the globe, and to stand against war crimes, genocide, crimes against humanity, and more.
