Everyone knows of the PTA, or Parent Teacher Association.
Also known as National Parent Teacher Association Founders’ Day, National PTA Founders’ Day celebrates the legacy of the PTA’s first founders, Alice McLellan Birney, Phoebe Apperson Hearst, and Serena Sloan Butler, over 125 years ago, in 1897.
Each year on the anniversary of its founding, it’s a valuable opportunity to salute the way the PTA has brought together parents and teachers in order to make schools a better and more supportive place for children to learn.
Today, join us as we celebrate the accomplishments, mission, and impact of your local PTA!
