For a nation, as well as for an individual, the best path forward is through learning and education.
Each year on July 30, National Public Education Day reinforces the commitment to children as the future of our country while raising awareness of the necessity for free and quality public education as the basic right of all human beings.
Public education provides each child with the opportunity to gain the learning that will guide them to life and success, from the science, language, technology, and social skills that will sustain them day to day, to the historical knowledge and studies that will enrich their larger understanding of history.
Public Education Day is a vital and necessary reminder of the importance of public education, and why we should all support and celebrate it as a basic right.
