Now you can contract with Puget Sound ESD to have Randy Brown come to your district and deliver this training on how to create instructional videos for the classroom. He will also cover what flipping a classroom is and what the benefits are for this teaching strategy. Options available for flipping a classroom will be covered, and you will learn how to use an electronic white board and pen tablet in creating instructional videos. You can learn more by going to http://kcts9.org/education/golden-apple-awards/winners#randy-brown and http://youtu.be/TNcFGz9psm8.
Using instructional videos frees you up to work one on one with kids. You literally create two of you in your classroom! There is the electronic, digital, recorded video you and the live, in-person you. See how to create a learning center inside your classroom so that while one group is watching an instructional video, you can work with the other group, thus reducing the teacher/student ratio by 50%.
For a maximum of 30 district staff, the cost is $2500 for a 10-hour training. This cost includes a DVD for each participant, titled “How to Create Instructional Videos and Flip Your Classroom”.
You provide the training site and ensure that each participant brings to the training a PC laptop, plus a computer headset with microphone (sorry, no Macs). Prior to the training, Randy will let your district’s tech support know what programs need to be installed on the laptops. Districts will also provide their own clock hours for the training.
