PSWCT/UP: Senior Risk Consultant (INTERNAL POSTING ONLY)

Puget Sound Workers’ Compensation Trust and Unemployment Pool (PSWCT/UP) seeks an experienced Senior Risk Consultant to lead safety and pre-loss activities aimed at cultivating a best-practice risk management culture to promote health and safety at the workplace. The position collaborates closely and effectively with internal and external partners to prevent workplace injuries, investigate incidents/accidents, hazards, environmental health conditions, provide risk control services, and enable the adoption of risk reduction strategies to mitigate job-related risks within assigned school districts.

The position oversees assigned personnel, processes, and initiatives to meet or exceed established performance standards. 

Puget Sound Workers’ Compensation Trust & Unemployment Pool (WCTUP), under the administrative oversight of Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD), is a group self-insured program that provides coverage for, and management of, workplace injuries and unemployment compensation claims for 33 school districts, PSESD, and their 45,000 employees in 6 counties within the state of Washington.

PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts and state approved charter and private schools in Washington. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field; or an Associate’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field and 3+ years of progressively responsible work-related experience; or a high school diploma/GED or equivalent and 6+ years of progressively responsible work-related experience

  • Experience providing safety and loss control services

  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and business clients within a risk/carrier environment and/or business setting

  • Experience supervising team members

  • Multiple project oversight for regulatory compliance initiatives

  • Possess a valid driver’s license & evidence of insurability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Washington State workers’ compensation risk management best practices

  • Experience persuading and influencing adoption of workplace risk management best practices

  • Experience managing school district staff injury prevention initiatives

  • Experience fulfilling client stewardship activities

  • Safety/risk management-related designation (CSP, ALCM, ARM, CSRM etc.)

Hiring Salary Range: $101,762 - $133,521 (Salary Band O)
Full Salary Range: $101,762 -$147,383 (Salary Band O)
