Program Manager, Science

Puget Sound ESD seeks a Science Program Manager to establish and sustain regional services in Science based on local needs, ensuring availability of supporting resources. The manager will also collaborate with agencies and organizations (e.g., Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), higher education, school districts, etc.) to develop and deliver professional learning opportunities for educators in instruction and instructional leadership to and provide leadership through services and resources to enhance and develop safe and supportive school and learning communities. In addition, the Science Program Manager will also implement tools and resources in collaboration with OSPI and district leaders to improve systems that support Science teaching and learning.

The Science Program Manager at PSESD 121 is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative science education programs and services for K-12 schools within the district. This role collaborates with educators, schools, and community partners to enhance science teaching and learning, with a focus on equity, access, and engagement for all students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Washington State Teacher or Administrator certificate
  • Master’s degree in Science Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational settings, with a focus on science instruction and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of current science education standards, curricula, and assessments.
  • Experience with professional development and coaching of educators.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of partners.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion, with experience designing and implementing programs to support diverse learners.
  • Ability to analyze data and use it to inform decision-making and program improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate STEM disciplines into project development and execution, facilitating innovative solutions and fostering a collaborative approach
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing computer science principles and technologies to innovate and enhance project outcomes across various scientific and engineering domains.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively articulating complex scientific and technical information to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a school district or educational service agency.
  • Knowledge of grant writing and fund development.

Hiring Salary Range: $84,934 - $111,441 (Salary Band L)
Full Salary Range: $84,934 - $123,010 (Salary Band L)
