Human Resources Technician (Temporary)

The Puget Sound Educational Service District is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Technician to provide essential technical HR and Organizational Development services to both internal and external clients. This role plays a key part in ensuring the effective delivery of services such as talent acquisition and retention, benefits administration, classification and compensation, employee relations, and leave administration, all of which contribute to aligning staff with the agency's mission and commitment to becoming an Antiracist Multicultural Organization.

The HR Technician will specifically oversee the non-regular workforce program, which includes managing on-call employees, substitutes, interpreters, temporary services, and independent contractors. The role also supports a variety of technical HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.

This is a temporary, full-time HR support position that will cover programmatic needs while staff are on extended leave. The position is benefit-eligible and is expected to conclude on December 31, 2025.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s/Vocational degree. High School Diploma/GED and progressively responsible job-related experience may substitute for Associate’s/Vocational degree
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to using a racial equity lens
  • Administrative support experience in the efficient management of multiple functions 
  • High level of communication, organization, attention to detail, collaboration, and customer service skills
  • Spreadsheet and database management experience, including data entry, manipulation, analysis, and report creation
  • Experience working with diverse groups toward common goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a human resource environment
  • Experience with Microsoft application, Qmlativ/Skyward, NEOGOV or other HRIS systems experience
