Puget Sound Educational Service District seeks a highly qualified Health/Nutrition/Safety Consultant to work in a strong collaborative partnership with the Early Learning team providing expertise related to health and nutrition for pregnant women, infants/toddlers, and preschool age children. Duties include coordinating program services in health and nutrition to ensure fidelity and quality implementation of early learning services based on the whole child approach and in compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations and requirements. This position will also be responsible for development and revision of policies, procedures, and forms; training development regarding best practices in health and nutrition as well as facilitation in collaboration with others; coordination and consultation related to special health/nutrition conditions; sustain and support the Health Services Advisory Committee, and maintain USDA/Child and Adult Care Food Program contract compliance.

Early Learning Program Hiring Requirements
- Portable Background Check: All Early Learning Program hires must have a cleared PSESD fingerprint background check (Washington State Patrol and FBI clearance) and a cleared Portable Background Check (PBC) before their hire date, and every three (3) years thereafter as a condition of continued employment. - Required Health Documentation to be completed within 30 days of official start date for all Early Learning staff, including:
- Completed Medical Release Form
- Tuberculosis clearance (if not included on Medical Release Form)

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in health, nursing, nutrition, or food science, or an Associate’s Degree in same areas and progressively responsible job-related experience
- Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
- Professional experience in Early Learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized knowledge or experience with specific populations of diverse families, including low-income families, English language learners, and children with special health care needs
- Experience providing group or staff training and/or teaching adult learners
- Experience working on a cross-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of common pediatric illnesses and treatment protocols
- One-on-one technical assistance and/or consultant experience
- Knowledge of USDA School Meal Programs and/or Child and Adult Care Food Program
