Coach, Early Learning

Puget Sound Educational Service District seeks one Early Learning Coach for Health/Nutrition/Safety to provide differentiated, equity-based coaching and training to teachers, family support specialists and other site staff in Head Start, Early Head Start and ECEAP programs.  Coaching will focus on program standards and practices, providing safe environments for children, individualized support for children, assessment, family partnerships and classroom quality improvement.  This position will serve on an inter-disciplinary team to provide a child and family centered, whole-child approach to Early Childhood Education.  Use and interpretation of data will be a regular part of practice to help build site staff capacity and to inform improvements in community early learning outcomes.

Early Learning Program Hiring Requirements

  • Portable Background Check: All Early Learning Program hires must have a cleared PSESD fingerprint background check (Washington State Patrol and FBI clearance) and a cleared Portable Background Check (PBC) before their hire date, and every three (3) years thereafter as a condition of continued employment.  Applicants without a current PBC should consider completing a PBC during the application phase.   • Required Health Documentation to be completed within 30 days of official start date for all Early Learning staff, including:
    • Completed Medical Release Form
    • Tuberculosis clearance (if not included on Medical Release Form) 
    • MMR vaccine documentation (if not included on Medical Release Form)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, nutrition, or related field of study, or Associate’s Degree in same areas and progressively responsible job-related experience.

  • Professional experience coaching, mentoring, and/or providing technical assistance in health, nutrition, and/or safety-related fields

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized knowledge or experience with specific populations of diverse families, including low-income families, English language learners, children with disabilities, and/or mental health concerns.

  • Experience providing group or staff training and/or teaching adult learners.

  • Experience working on a cross-disciplinary team.

  •  

    Knowledge of common pediatric health conditions, safe early learning environments, and/or early learning nutrition protocols.

Hiring Salary Range:  $72,321 - $94,892 (Salary Band H)
Full Salary Range:  $72,321 - $104,742 (Salary Band H)
