We are seeking 2 highly qualified Head Start Assistant Teachers to join our team of educators and work in a strong collaborative partnership with the Lead Teacher and Teacher.  Job duties include providing quality, comprehensive child development to Early Head Start children and their families.

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) or Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate required and 12 job related credits. *Unofficial transcripts are required as part of the complete application packet.

  • Early childhood experience in a child care center, child development center or preschool program.


Preferred: (Cover letter should specifically address any experience meeting the preferred qualifications)

  • Experience with Head Start, Early Head Start, or other comprehensive child development/family support program;

  • Experience working with low income and/or diverse populations;

  • Experience working with infants/toddlers;

  • Former or current Head Start/ECEAP participant/parent


Must obtain Food Handler's Permit within 30 days of employment, and CPR/First Aid Certificate within 90 days of employment.


This is a full time, year ‘round position based in White Center. Salary (Band PSA1a): $16.29 – 18.89/hr. Candidate offers consider experience, qualifications and internal equity.
