ASCD PD Online Courses are self-paced, web-based, media-rich learning experiences that help users deepen their understanding of today’s most important education topics. Each course includes video content, readings, auto-graded assessments, downloadable applications, and reflections.
Puget Sound ESD has received approval for clock hours and SPU college credit for SOME of the ASCD online classes, however, you must register for your class through Puget Sound ESD in order to request PSESD clock hours or SPU credit. Each online class has a course fee of $150. Twenty clock hours ($40) or two SPU credits ($84) is an additional fee. NOTE: As of September 1, 2016, the fee for two SPU credits will be $100.
Courses are completed on the ASCD PD Online website. No special software is needed, just minimal computer requirements (internet browser and connection, Adobe Flash Player, and Adobe Reader). After you complete your online course, you are able to print a certificate of completion, which you must send with your clock hours request form or SPU registration form. Instructions for requesting clock hours or SPU credit are included in your registration confirmation email. You have six months to complete your class after your initial course login.
Cancellation Policy: If for any reason you need to cancel your registration and wish to receive a refund for a class, PSESD Registration must receive written request for cancellation within two weeks of your registration confirmation. Also, refunds are valid ONLY if you have not started the course. All refunds are subject to a $15 handling fee.
