PSESD is using a design approach so that we are positioned to meet the needs of the future and are responsive to changing context. The approach is rooted in our organizational values and will help us create a design that enables us to become an antiracist multicultural organization and eliminate the opportunity gap. We will answer three questions: what should we do, how should we do it, and how should we be structured? The design will guide our work for a number of years into the future.
Stakeholder perspectives are foundational to the design. We are reaching out to our staff and to external partners to understand from their perspective what the ESD of the future should look like and do. This outreach is rooted in our belief that the people most affected by an issue should be the ones to develop solutions to that issue.
A Design Team has synthesized the results of the stakeholder conversations and developed recommendations for PSESD’s Board of Directors. The Directors will consider the recommendations during summer and fall 2016. This document will provide the foundation for a bold future-focused plan.
