U.S. Senator Murray Unveils AHEAD Act at Educare

30 Oct
Alongside King County Housing Authority, Puget Sound ESD was thrilled to host U.S. Senator Patty Murray and a roundtable of parents and education partners at our Educare early learning center earlier this month. Senator Murray was in town to unveil the Affordable Housing for Educational Achievement Demonstration (AHEAD) Act.  The AHEAD Act would incentivize partnerships between housing organizations and other industries, such as school districts and community-based organizations, and provide new funding for planning and implementation grants for partnering organizations to begin and/or increase their efforts to improve educational and life outcomes for low-income children and youth.

As an Educare parent and Policy Studies student at the University of Washington Bothell, I would have loved to have been invited to this event.
