Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) is seeking a diverse group of representatives to consider becoming members of the PSESD Board of Directors.
PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts, state approved private and charter schools in Washington State. Educational Service Districts improve the quality, equity and efficiency of educational programs through partnerships with K-12 programs, early learning, higher education and private organizations. PSESD provides these programs and services to 35 school districts, 200 private schools and 8 charter schools in King and Pierce counties, including Bainbridge Island through the lens of our Ends or agency vision: Success for Each Child and Eliminate the Opportunity Gap by Leading with Racial Equity.
The PSED Board of Directors is comprised of nine elected members from various areas in our region. Six of the nine positions are open for election this year. Elections will be held in August, new board members will be sworn in this coming January, 2018.
We are seeking community members, who would be willing to commit time to participate in monthly board meetings, approve financials and policies regarding the operations of the agency, provide meaningful linkage with educational leaders and community members, and ultimately ensure the PSESD achieves ends-related results.
Director Districts are based on geographic areas by school district. Each ESD Director District covers a set of school district geographic areas. The Seattle School District is split by Census Tract between Districts 1, 2, 3 and 5. ESD Director Districts that are up for election are listed below.
